Arthritis exercise class to be offered in Salem
North Shore Physical Therapy, in conjunction with the Salem YMCA, will hold a certified arthritis exercise class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10-11 a. m. beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 7 and Thursday, Sept. 9. Class will be held in the small pool in warm water.

Improving stamina?
For all of you fitness buffs – I’m going to be attending some training in a few months that is going to be pretty physically demanding. Runs up to 7 miles, partly up hill, push-ups, sit-ups, etc. I have until mid-July to prepare for this, any tips or help? Or does anyone know of any templates that I can use to track my progress? Thanks in advance.

Compound exercises, if you are not already in pretty good shape, these will strengthen many of your muscles with each exercise, making your overall body use energy more efficiently.
Since you only have a few months, you don’t want to do a program which you isolate each muscle, this is for more advanced people and bodybuilders. Not that you can’t do some isolation exercises, but compound exercises should be center of your program. If they are, and you stick three months to the program, you should make decent progress in fitness.

You could also go to East Broadway and try the consignment shops there, almost all of the major sport stores there.
I know you said you don’t want something expensive but take look at Sports Check stores. They are all over as you may already know. There is one on East Broadway too. Even retail stores put good sale out.

Having sex the night before or the day of a Physical fitness test make it worse or increases the outcome? What would the reason be if it were to make it worse?

Well, To get to the last gym, you must either defeat or catch the legendary Pokemon Dialga or Palkia
After you do that you must go back to Pastoria City. If you go to the hotels over there, you will see some stairs going down to the right. From there you will be at sunny shore city if you keep going right. Then If you go to The gym and talk to the man(Flint) who says that he is not here you can go to the light house which is reachable if you go to the lower right of the city. Once you go inside you will see someone staring out a telescope. Talk to him and he will be the gym leader. Then go back to the gym and battle him.

Am I pushing my self too hard?
I’ve started a new workout routine out of frustration of my constant body insecurities, personal fitness, and cross-training for my upcoming swimming season. I’m a 16 year old girl, 120 pounds, and 5’5.
Today I:
Did 4 core exercises, 3×10 reps
Ran 1 mile at 7.5mph on the treadmill
Did 4 core exercises, 3×10 reps
20 push ups
20 reps of Pilate’s leg raises
And then later this evening when it’s cooler outside I will run about 2.5 miles on the road. The course is flat, a very very steep hill that is about .5 a mile by itself, and then I will turn around and take the same course back.
I cant spend as much time working out like this everyday because I work on the weekdays a physical labor job in the heat all day from 6am-2pm, so I’m dead by the end of the day. Mainly just treadmill running during the week. But I will still do all the rest of my routine no matter what.
Out of all my goals, I’m hoping to tone and tighten my core the most by August 30th.
No it doesnt look like you’re pushing yourself too hard…if your body feels alright, then it should be alright. I have a similar workout sched, but with core weights and cardio, 16-f-5’7”

Where can I get the training I need to become a fitness/personal trainer?
First let me say, I LOVE working out. I love my trainer! When I asked my trainer, where he got his bachelors degree, he said he didn’t have one.This surprised me! But he is certified through the NSCA. He has taken alot of workshops over the last 20 years, which allows him to work successfully without a degree. He has taught me alot over the last 18 months. And I want to help others the way I’ve been helped. I would like to work as a fitness/personal trainer, while getting my bachelors degree in exercise science. Can anyone help me find a reputable vocational school that offers fitness/[personal trainer education?
1: What’s the best vocational school for fitness/personal trainer in the US?
2: What is the better credential to have ACSM, NSCA, AFFA? What is the “gold” standard?
3: Any recommendations before I even plunk down any money on a short/long term program?
4: Is National Personal Trainer Institute a good school?
Any suggestions or opinions would be very helpful.
If you want to get your bachelor degree you can get that from any really good school. If you want to start working and enjoy learning try the YMCA. There courses are good and those that continue educating themselves do very well and are very educated in there chosen field.

Fitness for Air Force Basic Training help?
Its been a very long wait (March), but I leave for basic October 14. I have recently started running. I have always been a weak runner. My 1 mile run is at around 9 minutes right now, although I have not been running for time, but rather to build up conditioning. Last week I could barely do 1/2 a mile. I run about 3-4 days a week. I am 24 years old, 6’4 tall and weight 215 pounds. In one minute I can do 55 push ups straight and around 45-50 sit ups. I even ordered a pull up bar that I saw on TV. I drink a ton of water and am watching what I eat. What do I need to do to breeze through basic?

usafcmycloud, is element leader a good thing? I know I wont be able to go stealth mode at basic, so im going prepared.
You’re doing great…most people don’t do anything prior to going to basic. Every little bit counts…plus, you’ll be motivated and pushed for 8 weeks to train harder and run faster and farther. One piece of advice…once you leave basic, do not stop running! Since you know you’re a weak runner, keep it up! If you ever slack off it’ll be twice as hard to get motivated to run again. Just and FYI for you too…since you’re 6’4″, you’ll probably become and element leader or the person carrying the flag! Good luck!! Congratulations too!!
Added: Element Leader just means you’re the leader of that row of people. (Your height might not let you be anything else.) I know all about stealth mode…I was Dorm Guard Monitor (like a police chief). If anyone says anything to you just answer them, but don’t elaborate. What caught me was my former boss…a police chief…sent me a letter in basic, my TI wanted to know why a police department was writing me a letter…that’s when I became the Dorm Guard. I know everyone says don’t volunteer for anything, but I think that’s up to the person. I enjoyed stealth mode…no one knew me until we had name tapes, but other thrived on the attention.
