Can I legally charge for personal training services if I do not yet have my license?
I have several years of nutrition and fitness behind me and would like to offer this service to people for a small amount. I have done it once and provided a “do at your own risk” stating I am not responsible for any physical mental or emotional outcomes before during or after this advise. I know what I’m talking about in regards to what I’m offering but I do not want to get sued by someone who is money hungry. Is this waiver enough in the state of CA? Thank you!
Yes, but it is not wise.
If you have years of experience, just take the ACE exam and maintain your continuing education credits.
If you do get sued, no, a waiver is not enough and a certification will certainly look better in court.
Also, you say you know what you’re talking about, but if you do, why not just take the test? It should be easy if you have the experience and knowledge that you say you do.

Pre-Season Training For AFL?
I play women’s football and I am wanting to start my pre-season a bit earlier than the rest of my team. Can anyone give me some ideas of what to do to improve my fitness (that doesnt just involve jogging), any drills at all?

im starting per season training this saturday WIFI my Friend and were gonna train on kicking longer more accurate practice hand balling at the post sit ups push ups sprinting up and downn the field, running around the ground to get ur fitness up you can also try if your withFriendind for your freind to roll the ball and you pick it up trust me in the end it all counts

Why are politicians trying to figure out what to do with bailout money?
I think the best people suited for this job to figure out what to do with the money are small business owners, executives from multiple companies, fire fighters, police officers, doctors and nurses, teachers and so on. I mean, these politicians are just randomly sending millions of dollars to these big companies. They really have no idea what these companies are planning to do with the money. I think the best people to figure out what to do with the money are people who actually knows what the company needs and how much it will cost.
What’s even more bizarre that mayors from all across the nation were gathered in Washington DC on what they will do with the bailout money. Some reply that they will build country clubs, golf courses, and parks. God knows what the mayors from those farmland states (like Kentucky, Tennessee, etc) said. What about building or improving infrastructure such as schools, police, fire, and health care?
Politics as usual!!
The rich will gain the most while the infrastructure and REAL jobs sit on the back-burners.

What does it take to own a gym ?
I’m considering careers in the health/fitness field. If I had to choose, I would want to own/run a gym rather than specifically go for “personal training” or “nutritionalist”. I’m always going to gyms and never satisfied. I’d want to make the perfect gym (to my standards!) and how would you go about doing that. Do you have to go through business courses in school or what.
I’ve noticed some gym websites have it so you can “open a franchise” but ehhhhh i don’t want to run someone else’s gym.
As with any business you’re going to need substantial capital going into the business, a business plan to present to the bank if you decide on applying for a loan for start up, and a hell of alot of insurance (probably the killer) to protect yourself from foolish members injurying themselves and suing you.
Exercise equipment is expensive and getting your ROI (return on investment) may take longer than the average service based business.
Also, people are very fickle, especially about fitness. You’re going to have to make your business seem better than these chains that attract members by their reputation, 24hr service, and multiple locations.
If your passionate and work hard nothings impossible.
