fitness training certificate
How long will it take me to get fit?

Uhm I used to do swimming a LOT – I learnt to swim and basically went on to do all the badges and certificates I could, then when I finished them I joined a club – but I quit it because I’m not a competitive swimmer although I used to be pretty fast. I was about 8 when I noticed my stomach had started to tone… then when I was 11 I quit because I went to a really good secondary school and I didn’t have enough time to swim for so much time – I’m 15 atm and pretty out of shape, I’m not fat, and my BMI is within the normal range for my heigh and stuff, but I’m REALLY unfit like I get tired running short distances XD

So I’m almost 16 and considering training to be a life guard, and you can get your certificate without being VERY in shape but I’d prefer it to be that way… so summer is coming up, so I can swim like 2/3 times almost every week, more if that’s advisable… how long would it take me to get back to a really good fitness and start toning?

It really depends on how hard you push yourself, how you are eating, and whether you take appropriate breaks so the muscle has time to rebuild.
You are young, so it shouldn’t take too long, I would say it is likely you would start seeing pretty good results within a few months, since you aren’t overweight right now.
Just watch your diet, lots of fruits and veggies, lean protein, energizing whole grains, etc, drink lots of water, and push yourself hard, not too hard, but if you stay at your comfort level you wont tone up as fast.
You can also consider some calisthenics thrown into your day to day (do crunches and pushups, etc when you wake up) for an added boost.

fitness training certification programs
What qualities do you look for in a good yoga teacher?

I am currently enrolled in a training and certification program, and thought I’d ask some opinions. What do you like/dislike about teachers? In a general, eclectic session, do you place importance more on meditation/breathing or fitness? What are some bad habits you have seen before, and what did the best yoga teacher you ever had do that was so special?

Well, of course knowledge and experience.
Once you’ve experienced a knowledgeable teacher, it’s usually apparent when others try to ‘wing it’.

I like that my teacher has her own teacher, even after many years of herself being a teacher. I like her attitude that she will always be a student herself, with more to learn.

I’ve chosen her as my main teacher specifically because she does teach asana, some pranayama, & occasionally meditation (I know she keeps a regular meditation practice in addition to her asana practice), but I know many others seek a teacher of only the physical practice, and have no interest in the yamas, niyamas, or other limbs.

A sense of humor is always good. Remembering that it’s only yoga, not life or death.

[mage lang="" source="flickr"]female fitness training schedule[/mage]
Lose Weight…?

i am 135 lbs, female, and 5 foot 3. i want to lose 20-30 pounds. I already have an eating plan, so mainly i am looking for a fitness schedule. I have never lifted weights before, so i am looking for an answer that does not involve lifting.

I am also training for track, so i would like to work on that also.

i am also looking for any FREE sites that can give you a fitness schedule…

Please help me out here! Thanks in advance!
okay, if i don’t need to lose 30 exactly how much do i need to lose??? and how long will it take??

BTW this is my eating schedule…

Breakfast—Milk and Cereal..honey nut cheerios.

Lunch–Sandwhich or Chicken Salad

Snack–bagel

Dinner—rice and dahl (indian dinner), maybe salad or pasta

i know this is not that good of an eating plan, so please correct me if i am wrong!

You dont need to lose 20-30 pounds. Your current weight is healthy and it would be dangerous to get down to 105 pounds.
You can work out that your weight is healthy for yourself:
go to http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ and put in your stats.
Your BMI is well between the normal healthy range of 18.5-24.9.
Body mass index is the accepted way of the health profession to determine a healthy weight.

Taking up a reasonable fitness regime is a good idea for anyone to keep healthy and in good shape but not as well as an eating plan.

certified fitness training classes
Do you need to be certified to be a personal trainer?

I am interested in being a personal trainer. I know a lot about fitness and eating right. I have been exercising religiously for 8 years. I am fit and I love getting people motivated to take care of themselves. I am self-taught. I am interested in just doing one on one sessions at a local gym. I don’t want to teach classes or anything(unless it’s a Pilates class). Do I have to be certified to train?

Yes you do. There are many fitness businesses to choose from too. Personally, I like AFAA, you can type those letters in and go to their site, they do certifications for training and for pilates.
Good for you! Being a self starter is key, as to stay in shape one needs to want to do it. ACE is also a good fitness certification site.
