can anyone tell me what to expect at a lifeguard certification course?
I’m getting ready to take the class and i’m really nervous! i just want to know what to expect at the class and if there are any physical preparations i should make like exercise wise.
The first part is a 500 meter swim, Breaststroke and Front Crawl, continuous, no stopping. Build up your stamina. But if you’re applying as a lifeguard, this shoul dbe a piece of cake. If it isn’t you really shouldn’t be a lifeguard. It’s not timed, you just have to complete it.
The next is just memorization of rescue and first aid techniques and then the demonstration of them in the water. This is easy enough, you just have to pay attention and not be typing away with your cell phone. If you do fail the test, you can take it again and again until you pass. At least my instructor let us.
Overall just pay attention and be in shape. That’s what you need. If you don’t or aren’t, then please find work as something else, because if you’re unqualified sitting up on that chair, you’re putting others’ lives in jeapordy.
Kay, so i’m like in total freak out, over stress mode, cause I’m in 2 honers classes. Which I thought just meant they were harder, but the only difference is they give truckloads of work!!!
On top of that, I had the swine flu, so I was out for a week. So that means tons of make-up work!!
I have been so stressed that I pass out every night then wake up feeling like I haven’t gotten any sleep. The only form of release I have is crying every night over my homework, which is starting to get on my family’s nerves. I feel like every little thing will crack me and i’ll breakdown.(Which is what happens.)
So, my question to you is, since the works isn’t going to lessen it’s just going to get harder as I move into high school(i’m in the eighth grade) what do you do to de-stress?
These things don’t work for me:
exercises
meditation/prayer
not really any hobbies
Any suggestions?
always think ahead so you never get caught off guard and then stressed, and don’t do things that you know will get you stressed out, if you feel like you’re going to get upset over something, but you absolutely have to do it, take breaks, and then get back to it. once you move into high school, don’t try to take all of the hard classes at once, unless you’re willing to do the work. Spread things out.
take a hot shower and just relax and take your mind off things/give yourself neck/back/and chest rubs to loosen the tension in your body.
